We Should Arm Every Teacher To Prevent Another Connecticut Elementary School Massacre

Meanwhile, at an elementary school in Israel...

Israeli teachers on school excursion carrying guns with them. We need more of this to prevent school massacres.

Ateacher's son rampaged through a Connecticut elementary school today killing 20 small children and six adults 1, a tragedyPresident Barack Obama used to subtly suggest as a reason to weaken and eventually abrogate the Second Amendment 2.
It is too bad that the school officials at Newtown, Connecticut did not read my article Camp Shooting - Norwegians Need Israeli-Style Protectionand implement my suggestion that we arm our teachers just as Israeldoes so that perhaps fewer children would have died in today's school rampage. Since the 1970s after Israel instituted the program of armed citizen guards in the schools, not a single child has been murdered in an Israeli school 3.
I ask my readers to sign the petition on the White House Website: HERE:
WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
A gun in every classroom. Arm every teacher and principal to defend themselves and their students during an attack.
If teachers and principals are armed and trained to defend themselves during a school attack there would be fewer casualties and less attempts to attack schools.
Fact: Crime rates decrease when the people are better armed.
It is time we gave our teachers the ability to defend themselves and stop pretending like a door buzzer is enough of a defense. Take a stand for school safety. Arm the teachers and principals today. A gun in every classroom will protect our students from massacres like the one in CT today.

Some readers may object that there are too many guns in this country. The real problem in today's shooting is the Federal Ban on guns in schools. The shooter went into two classrooms. An armed teacher in the second classroom, knowing what happened in the first classroom could have shortened the reign of terror and saved lives.

Notes

(1):
A man killed his mother at home and then opened fire Friday inside a Connecticut elementary school, massacring 26 people, including 20 young children, as youngsters cowered in their classrooms and trembled helplessly to the sound of gunfire reverberating through the building.
The shooter, who sources identified as Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother, Nancy Lanza, in the face at their home in Newtown, Conn., then went to nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School where she taught and gunned down her entire class, bringing the death toll to 28, according to sources.
Lanza was found dead inside the school, according to officials. Eighteen of the children and six more adults were dead at the school and two more children died later, according to Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance.

The White House said President Barack Obama supports reinstatement of a federal ban on assault weapons -- a position he took in the 2008 campaign but failed to press during his first term.
"It does remain a commitment of his," presidential spokesman Jay Carney told reporters as the nation reeled from a mass shooting in Connecticut that mainly killed school children.
An emotional Obama did not address that issue directly in a televised statement from the White House on the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown that killed 26 people but said something had to be done.
"We're going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics," said Obama, the father of two girls.

backwoodshome.com, May/Jun 2003, In time of war - The Israeli answer to terrorism
Israel began the program of armed citizen guards in the schools after the Maalot massacre in the 1970s, when a large number of children were slain in a terrorist incident. The volunteer parents work in plain clothes, armed with concealed semi-automatic pistols, and are trained by Israel's home guard. It is significant that in the more than a quarter century between Maalot and the incident mentioned above when the citizen guards shot down the terrorist in the school in 2002, not a single child was murdered in an Israeli school!
The reason is that Israel wisely publicized the fact that the civilian volunteer guards, indistinguishable from the regular teaching and administrative staff, would be in place. It served as a tremendously effective deterrent.

Bee's note:
Bernie is correct!  I have had Israeli friends sending me photos last night of ways in which the Israeli children are protected, by having teachers and trained armed volunteers travel with the classes on field trips throughout the year. America has federal and state gun laws; however, when evil individuals or gangs wish to kill, rob, or do both, no amount of gun laws prevent someone from obtaining a weapon of their choice to use.
The Number One gun law is older than our nation: "Thou shall not kill" ... ! (Some versions of the Bible use the word "murder").
Perhaps it is time to use Israel's example in protecting our own children here in America.
